What are the nerves?

--

Nerves are thread-like structures that run throughout our bodies. They brach out of our spinal cord(backbone) and also from the brain. From there, nerves reach out to every organ in our body.

They act as a messenger and carry messages back and forth between the brain and different parts of the body. They carry all the information from our surroundings to the brain in special codes. Our brain understands these codes and sends the signals back to the body parts through nerves. Out body responds to the new information with action. So, basically, nerves control each and every action of our body.

Fast Fact:

Did you know there are more nerve cells in the human brain than there are stars in the Milky Way?
