Well, believe it or not, chocolate does grow on trees, Chocolate is made from cocoa trees in Africa, Central, and South America, and parts of Asia, Where the weather is hot. The tree grows pods that contain 30–50 bitter beans or seeds. These seeds wouldn’t taste very good if you try to eat them! The seeds are sent to factories where they are heated, dried, cleaned, roasted, and crushed.

What is left behind is gooey, dark brown paste known as cocoa liquor. It is mixed with sugar, vanilla, milk, and sometimes nuts and fruits are also added. It is poured into modules of different shapes and sizes and is allowed to cool. Your chocolate is now ready to eat!

The first chocolate bars were made in Switzerland in 1819.

So this is where chocolate in my chocolate ice cream comes from, I like vanilla ice cream too, Where does vanilla come from? Does it come from trees too?

Yes, it sure does. In fact, vanilla comes from a type of orchid plant. It knows as a vanilla orchid. It grows vanilla pods that contain beans. They look kind if like dried-up black-colored string beans! They go through special drying and processing before we get the liquid vanilla extract. It is famous for its delicious smell and subtle taste. Do you want to know how it knows how it smells like?

People describe its smell as spicy, woody, floral and fruity all at once. It is used to make chocolates and also used as a flavouring agent in cakes, cookies and ice creams.
