Sunlight is used to make solar energy. You have been using solar energy every day; to dry your clothes in the Sun and to warm up in winters. But it can also be used to make electricity. All we need to catch are some sun rays with the help of solar panels. How does it all work? The solar panel has scars cells. These cells contain a special metal called silicon which helps to convert the Sun’s energy into electricity. In a solar power plant, many solar panels are used to catch solar energy. This energy is used to heat water into streams. The steam turns the big turbines and produces electricity.
